FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championships Peru 2015 - Dream Team
Italy outclassed the United States with a powerful exhibition of volleyball during the gold medal match won by the European representative at the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship at the Eduardo Dibós Coliseum in Lima.
The Italians rushed to a 3-0 (25-20, 25-18, 25-16) victory with a show of high-quality volleyball, displaying excellent defense, a variety of serves and a solid attack led by Paola Egonu, who was elected the competition's Most Valuable Player.
Egonu was also named the All-Star Team's First Outside Hitter, joining teammate Alessia Orro, who received the award for Best Setter. China’s Li Yingying and Zang Qianqian were named Second Outside Hitter and Libero, respectively, and Kathryn Plummer of the United States won the Opposite Hitter award. The First and Second Middle Blockers were Jovana Kocic of Serbia and Zehra Gunes of Turkey.
