Team profile

Thailand

Thailand are one of the most improved teams in recent years and are currently ranked 11th in the FIVB rankings. They qualified for the World Championship by winning silver at the 2014 Asian U17 Championship in which they defeated by China and Korea. That year the team also gained great experience when they trained with the Thailand senior women’s team at the Italy 2014, FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship. In 2003, 2008 and 2010 the team won bronze in the age-group in Asia and when Thailand hosted the 2009 U18 World Championship, they acquitted themselves well and finished seventh.

Coach

Ratanarasi , Tanasak

Tanasak Ratanarasi has been head coach since 2007, when he led the U18 team at the Asian Youth Girls' Volleyball Championship. Their silver medal success at the 2014 Asian U17 Championship is his highest accolade as coach, though in 2008 he coached the U20 team to a top-five finish at the Asian Junior Women's Volleyball Championship in Chinese Taipei. Prior to taking over as head coach in 2007 he was assistant coach from 1999.
