Brazil defeats Mexico in four sets

 

Callao, Peru, August 14, 2015 – Brazil showed its strength and defeated Mexico 3-1(25-20, 18-25, 25-17, 25-18) in the round to define positions between 9-16 of the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship at Miguel Grau Coliseum on Friday.

Brazil led in attacks (50-39) and blocks (13-2), while Mexico lead 10-6 in services. The winners made 24 unforced errors five less than Mexico.

Brazil´s Nyeme Alexander led all scorers with 18 points. While in Mexico Kathya García was the top scorer of her team with 14. A pesar de que México lideró el inicio el juego por 8-4, Brazil recupero la concentración en recepción y recompuso su juego para igualarlo en 14 y tomar el control 16-4. Con un trabajo acertado de Beatriz Carvalho cerró el set 25-20. Although Mexico led the start of the game 8-4, Brazil regained their concentration and take control 16-14. With a successful work of Beatriz Carvalho closed the set 25 -20. Brazil led the second set 7-4 before Mexico climbed back into the match and tied the score at 7-7; and with a impressive work of Karla Mireles, Mexico won the set 25-18. The last sets were very similar, with a Mexican team struggling to make the surprise but without the necessary arguments in attack. Brazil closed the match by winning the third and fourth set 25-17 and 25-18 by respectively.
