Germany stop Thailand with big wall

Germany proved to be too much at the net against Thailand

Lima, Peru, August 7, 2015 – The taller Germans used their size advantage at the net to outscore Thailand 16-4 in blocks.

Jens Tietbol, coach of Germany:  We are very glad with the victory despite the fact the team still need to adjust to the weather and the climate in the venue. It was a honour to play against Thailand, a team that always are among the top positions in Asia.

Tanasak Ratanarasi, coach of Thailand: It was a great opportunity for Thailand to play against Germany which is one of the top teams in the world. Today we made many errors in our reception and that’s something we need to talk and solve for the next matches.

Pia Leweling, captain of Germany: We felt a little intimidated at the start since we had seen videos of the style of Thailand but we got the result we wanted and feel happy for the victory.

Natthanicha Jaisaen, captain of Thailand: Our main strength is our attack and the German team blocked very well. Today we had many mistakes and don’t feel satisfied with the job we did.
