Germany take sweet revenge against Serbia

Germany's Hanna Orthamann collected 21 points in the victory over Serbia

Lima, Peru, August 11, 2015 – Team Germany put pressure on their opponents with well located and potent serves to avenge a previous loss to Serbia during the European Championship earlier this year.

Jens Tietbohl, coach of Germany: The key for us today was winning the first set. We started from there, figured out their game system, and pressed with our serves.

Pia Leweling, captain of Germany: We had played before against them and today was our time to take revenge. Now we are a more solid team and despite some complicated moments we encouraged ourselves to get the win.

Jovo Kazovic, coach of Serbia: Today we suffered a loss in our team as our libero got sick. I think the lack of good reception pressed us a lot. You can’t win a match depending only on the attack.

Katarina Lazovic, captain of Serbia: In our previous match in Europe everything worked well but now we are missing one important piece of the team. I hope we can do better in our next match.
