Improved reception helps Chinese Taipei victory

Liu Kuei Ling receives for Chinese Taipei

Lima, Peru, August 8, 2015 - Some adjustments made by Chinese Taipei with their reception contributed to the success in the tie-breaker against Korea.

Chen Yu Huang, captain of Chinese Taipei: Korea is a very strong team and today we were very lucky to beat them. There is a long way to go and I know that we are going to improve match by match.

Chin Tu-Kuang, coach of Chinese Taipei: Last night we watched videos of the match of Korean team and prepared a strategic plan that was followed during the match. We had many reception errors in the fourth set because they changed their style but then in the fifth set we adjusted very well and took the win.

Ko Minji, captain of Korea: It was a well fought match and it is a shame we couldn’t keep the rhythm of the first set because the outcome would have been different. We were close to the victory but tomorrow we are going to prepare for Peru.

Kim Dongyeol, coach of Korea: The match was very close but I am satisfied with the job done by my team. The girls were a little bit tired after playing five sets against Mexico one night earlier. I am confident that in the match against Peru we will be able to get a positive result.
