Japan pushes past Egypt

 

Callao, Peru, August 14, 2015 – Japanese put together a strong match and swept Egypt , 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-14) in the round to define positions between 17-20 of the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship at Miguel Grau Coliseum on Friday.

Ai Kurogo of Japan led all scorers with 16 points on 12 spikes, three aces and one block, while Egypt´s Marian Morsy was the best scorer of her team with 11 points.

The Asian team led in attacks 39-25, 7-3 in block and 8-3 in aces. The winners scored on 23 Canada errors while committing 16.

Japan’s attacks were especially tough lead by opposite Miyuki Horie won a quickly first set by 25-11.

Suddenly Japanese began to make mistakes at reception at the start of the second set and Egypt lead the score 8-4. However, Air Kurogo of Japan began to show her powerful attacks and Japan recovered the control of the game and close 25-18. In the third set was Japan who took the initiative in service and led 8-1 and 16-6.

Trusting in the partial result, Japan provided opportunity for some alternative players and ended the set 25 to 14.
