Korean captain dreams with a final four spot

Korea's quick attacks were the keys against Egypt

Lima, Peru, August 10, 2015 – Korean team played with calm and patience against Egypt after going through three five-setters in their previous outings in Pool A prompting captain Minji Ko to put her sight and hopes on a final four spot at the championship.

Kim Dongyeol, coach of Korea: Our three previous matches went to five sets and today we rested our team and were able to get the victory. The blocking of Egypt was very good but we were putting in practice some tactics of European volleyball and everything worked for us.

Minji Ko, captain of Korea: After winning yesterday against the home team helped us to play with more calm. Now we go with more security after our goal of qualifying to the finals.

Abdeen Mohamed, coach of Egypt: I think the players got overconfident after yesterday’s victory and because Korea was coming from playing all their matches in five sets.  Maybe they relaxed a bit. In the third set we descended our rhythm and with a little extra pressure we could have won the match.

Nada Meawad, captain of Egypt: Our team had a very bad performance this afternoon. We were out of focus and overconfident that the Korean team would be tired. Now we have to go training to correct our mistakes.
