‘Problems in defence, damaged our game’ – Brazil captain

 

Callao, Peru, August 9, 2015. Turkey did not give Brazil any breaks in route to a straight-set 3-0 win in Pool D of the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship at Miguel Grau on Sunday.

Selmin Karahan, captain of Turkey: It was an intense game, Brazil is a team with a varied game and was difficult to win, but we did. We will do more for our next game.

Amanda Rodrigues, captain of Brazil: Today we had lots of problems in defence, and that damaged our game. We could not maintain the advantage and now is moment to think in the next match.

Bedesten Nuri, coach of Turkey: Brazil is a strong team and that made a tough game. This level of tournament that allows players improves. The competition continues with very hard and complicated games, so we must continue working hard as we have been doing.

Luizomar de Moura, coach of Brazil: Turkey had a technical service and our reception didn´t worked, we made a lot of mistakes and problems to close the sets. Tomorrow will be another day, and we are going to play with all our effort and more concentration.
