Serbian players raise their hands in victory celebration

Lima, Peru, August 13, 2015 – The high defence at the net was the main factor for the victory of Serbia against a battling Korea.

Jovo Cakovic, coach of Serbia: I am very happy with the performance of Tijana Milojevic who has been a spectacular libero. Tomorrow we have a strong match against Italy but I think our chances are 50-50.

Katarina Lazovic, captain of Serbia: We were surprised by the Asian game even though we had studied them very well. I think we won the match because we played with all pour heart and gave the best of our ability.

Dongyeol Kim, coach of Korea: Our biggest challenge today was the height of the Serbian team. We were not tired. Our strategy was to play against their blocking an attack from the back row but it didn’t work.

Minji Ko, captain of Korea: Our goal was to win the first set and start from there but we couldn’t and also lost the second set. It affected our attitude and it was even tougher to come back in the third against the high and solid block of Serbia.
