Serbia prevail 3-0 against tough Korea

 

Serbia's Anastasija Sekulic was one of the four players with double figures in scoring for the winners

Lima, Peru, August 13, 2015 – Four players scored with double digits as Serbia blanked Korea 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 25-20) to gain a quarterfinals berth at the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship at Eduardo Dibós Coliseum of Lima on Thursday.

Ljubica Milojevic and Astanasija Sekulic each registered 12 points while Jovana Kocic and Anja Asonja contributed 11 apiece in the victory of Serbia. Korea’s Minji Ko and Seoyeun Koo each collected 9 points in the losing cause.

Serbia outclassed Korea at the net with a 15-4 advantage in the blocking category and held a 36-29 margin in attacks. Korea led 6-4 in aces.

Serbia took the lead 23-22 with attack and block by Milojevic and clinched the first set 25-22 with a big block by Asonja.

At 20-all in the second, Serbia scored three points in a row at 20-all with consecutive kills by Radmilovic and block by Lazovic before closing it 25-21.

Serbia led 8-3 in the third set but Korea closed in at 10-9. Serbia arrived into the second pause 16-12 with a four-point rally and put it away 25-20 with the spike by Asonja.
