Serbia beat Germany in straight sets for fifth place
Lima, Peru, August 16, 2015 – Serbia swept Germany 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 26-24) in the match for the fifth place at the FIVB Volleyball Girs’ U18 World Championship on Sunday at Eduardo Dibos Coliseum of Lima.
Serbia’s Katarina Lazovic was the top scorer of the match with 18 points followed by Germany’s Hanna Orthmann.
The winners led in spikes 37-32 and scored on 29 errors by the losers while committing 17.
Serbia held slight leads 8-7 and 16-15 in the first set but then Lazovic established the difference with a final score 25-19.
In the second set, Serbia led 8-7 and 16-12 and took it with a superb block by Stojokovic.
Germany was in front 16-15 in the third set and expanded the distance to 19-16. Serbia tied at 21-all with the spike by Sekulic and won it 26-24 with the spike by Tasic.
