Thai coach proud of performance against China

Chinese players celebrate after closing the match with Thailand on Sunday

Lima, Peru, August 9, 2015 – To win a set against defending champions China and battling closely in a long opening stage makes Thailand coach Tanasak feel very proud of his girls.

Shen Mang, coach of China: Thailand is one of the top teams in Asia so we know them very well. Since this is a very long championship, in the third set I tested some players and that’s why we lost it. The first set was complicated but we won two sets very easy. I am satisfied with my team’s performance.

Quian Jingwwen, captain of China: The first set was very difficult but then we recovered in the next one and lost the third because we changed some players and the team was not working properly. In the fourth set we came back stronger and closed the match.

Ratanarasi Tanasak, coach of Thailand: I am proud of how my team played against such strong side like China. I think that our mistakes in the serve reception cost us the victory but I am confident our team will keep going better and better.

Kanittha Juangjan, top scorer of Thailand: I think today we played better than yesterday against Poland and our team was more prepared to play against Asian teams than European teams. It is important for us to continue improving with the tournament.
