Thailand see off Chinese Taipei

 

Thailand outplayed Chinese Taipei in the contest between Asian sides

Lima, Peru, August 13, 2015  - Thailand defeated Chinese Taipei 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-19, 25-20) in a consolation-round match for the 17 to 20 positions at the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship at Eduardo Dibos Coliseum of Lima on Thursday.

Thailand’s Juangjan Kanittha recorded a tournament-high 27 points as the only players of the winning side who reached double figures in the charts. Huang Chen Yu and Chen Yu Chieh each had 16 points for Chinese Taipei.

Thailand led in spikes 44-37 and aces 11-7. Chinese Taipei held the advantage in blocks 14-8.

Taipei led 8-4 but Thailand was in front 16-15 with the spike by Sumalee. Thailand took the first set 25-22.

Chinese Taipei tied at 1-1 by winning the second set 25-22 with the spike by Ling Chang.

Thailand led all the way in the third set 8-3 and 16-13 before Amarinrat closed it 25-19.

Tied at 16-all in the fourth set Thailand won five points in a row and finished at 25-20.
