United States claims second triumph in a row

 

Callao, Peru, August 9, 2015 - United States cruised to another victory in straight sets (25-20, 25-19, 25-23) this time against Argentina during the third day of the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship at Miguel Grau Coliseum of Callao.

The Americans topped their opponents in attacks (38-29), blocks (10-8) and service winners (7-1).

The top scorer of the match was Alexis Sun of United States with 14 points while Agostina Soria had 11 points as the best scorer of Argentina.

USA dominated from the start of the game with a hard pressure on service from their captain Kathryn Plummer; based on the quick game the Americans captured the first set 25-20.

With a strong combination of serve and block the Americans arrived to the first time out with an advantage of 8-0 but then Argentina managed to solve their reception´s problems and with a huge courage took control of the set 17-15.

Despite the effort of “The little Panthers”, United States won the second set 25-19. Argentina’s wing spiker Agostina Soria lead their squad at the beginning of the third set by 8-6, however USA´s Alexis Sun was in another incredible day and with strong attacks helped her squad to close the final set 25-23.
