United States cruise to victory over Dominican Republic

Callao, Peru, August 8, 2015 – United States outclassed Dominican Republic in their first match in Pool C of the Girls U18 World Championship by winning 3-0 ( 25-15, 25-17, 25-17) on the second day at the Miguel Grau Collisseum in Callao on Saturday.

The North American’s side dominated in the blocking category 11-0 and outserved their opponents 9-5. The winners also held an overwhelming advantage of 38-26 in attacks.

USA’s Alexis Sun was the top scorer of the match with 17 points, including 11 attacks and 4 blocks. For Dominican Republic, Natalia Martinez topped the scoring with 12 points.

Unites Sates dominated the game with the explosives attacks of Khalia Lanier and Alexis Sun achieving the first set 25 to 15. The net was dominated by USA´s Captain Kathryn Plummer who was in charge of controlling the Dominican attempts leader by Natalia Martinez. To the surprise of all who were looking a more complicated game, United States closed the game with a double 25-17.
