China regain composure to beat Egypt

China's Wu Han collected 17 points in the victory

Lima, Peru, August 13, 2015 – China recovered from a shaky second set and went on to defeat Egypt with an improved offence in the last two sets of the contest.

Shen Mang, coach of China: We were able to adjust our game in the third and four sets while improving the attack. That’s the reason for the victory. In the first set we played as planned but in the second the team didn’t respond well.

Qian Jingwen, captain of China: We played a good first set but couldn’t keep the same rhythm in the second. Then we controlled our nerves and showed what we have been working daily.

Abdeen Mohamed, coach of Egypt: We know that China team is very good and one of the teams that came here to win the championship. I talked to my players about winning at least one set and they did it. Maybe we have the chance to win the match but China as the better team and deserved to win. Yesterday we visited downtown Lima and we are really happy to be here.

Mariam Morsy, top scorer of Egypt: We did our best trying to win the match. We didn’t ´play the way we wanted and we are far from our highest level. I am satisfied with the experience of playing in my first world championship. Tomorrow we will try to play better than today and get the win.
