Massiel Matos scored 22 points in the match for 17th position
Lima, Peru, August 15, 2015 – Dominican Republic defeated Thailand 3-0 (25-21, 25-12, 25-18) in the match for the 17th position at the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship on Saturday at Eduardo Dibos Coliseum of Lima.
The Dominicans outblocked their opponents 15-2 and scored on 29 errors by Thailand while committing 15. Both teams scored with four aces.
Massiel Matos led Dominican Republic with 22 points, including 6 blocks, while Geraldine Gonzalez, Lisbeth Rosario and Natalia Martinez each contributed 8 points.
Thailand’s Juangjan Kannitha finished with 10 points in the loss.
