Is going to be a beautiful match against USA - Mencarelli

Alesia Mazzaro and Alessia Orro (20) celebrate the victory over Turkey

Lima, Peru, August 15, 2015 – Italy’s coach Marco Mencarelli predicted a duel and a beautiful match against United States when the two teams meet for the gold medal at Eduardo Dibos Coliseum of Lima on Sunday night.

Marco Mencarelli, coach of Italy: We faced a Turkish team that did a good homework studying our team and because of that it took us a while to get mentally into the game. The final will be complicated. United States are strong with the attack and solid at defense. We will try to win the duel. To me it is going to be a beautiful match.

Alessia Orro, setter of Italy: I am very happy with this victory because despite the fact it was real battle point by point, we did our best and the outcome was the one we wanted. This is my first world championship and the experience has been a good one for my career.

Mehmet Nuri Bedesten, coach of Turkey: we couldn’t keep the tactical discipline in the fourth set. We made too many errors and lost the confidence. Tomorrow against China the challenge is a big one, especially if the players can’t recover the spirit after this loss.

Selmin Karahan, captain of Turkey: In the first set we battled with good serves and controlled the game a little bit. Then we committed many errors and couldn’t stop the Italian attack. China is an opponent we don’t know, but we will go out looking for the win.
