Japan claims sensational win over Turkey

 

Callao, Peru, August 10, 2015 – Japan pulled a sensational come-from-behind victory over Turkey in four sets (16-25, 25-13, 25-22, 25-20) in the second match of the day in Pool D of the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship at Miguel Grau on Monday.
The winners led in attacks 49-33 and in aces 9-6 and committed 26 unforced errors to 24 by Turkey.
Ai Kurogo finished as the best scorer for the Japan with 25 points, followed by Miyuki Horie with 11, while Turkish Yasemin Guveli was the top scorer of her team with 14 points.
Japan suddenly began making mistakes in reception, Turkey took advantage with outstanding game of Saliha Sahin y Yasemin Guveli close the first set 25-16.
The coach of Japan, Daichi Segura trusted in the alternative setter Nanami Seki in the second set and everything was easier for them. With and strong serve and quickly attacks Japan close the second and second set 25-13.
Once again Peruvians fans encouraged the Japanese team and they took the advantage in the score 18-11. However, Turkey controlled the net and tied the game at 18; despite this effort, Japan closes an amazing set 25-22.
Now it was Turkey’s coach that trusted in an alternative player and with Yasemin Ozel in the offensive got the first technical time out of the fourth set 8-3, but the Japanese top scorer Ai Kurogo recovered her powerful attacks and helped her squad close the set 25-23.
It was the second victory in a row for Japan team.
