Japan defeats Argentina and claims ninth place

 

Callao, Peru, August 16, 2015 – Japan defeated Argentina 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-19) in the match for the ninth place of the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship at Miguel Grau Coliseum of Callao on Sunday.

Japan held the advantages in blocks (5-4) and also in aces (8-1). The winners committed 18 unforced errors and Argentina 30.

Ai Kurogo spearheaded the Japanese offense with a match-high 12 points, followed by Miyuki Horie and Miyu Nakagawa with 9 points each one. Anahi Tosi led Argentina with 10 points.

Playing with a new libero, because Kanoha Kagamihara got an injured after the game against Brazil, Japan won the first set with quickly attacks 25-21.

The second set was easy to Japan, their serve made many problems to Argentina´s reception with a great job of Miyu Nakagawa.

The Asian team controlled the net with right blocks and close 25-16. Japan remained in their game plan and won the set 25-19, highlighting once again Ai Kurogo who led her team to a new victory.
