Korean coach praises players’ fighting spirit

Korea's coach Kim Dongyeol talked enthusiastically of team's character

Lima, Peru, August 9, 2015 – Korean coach Kim Dongyeol credited the character of his players who battled hard against the home team until the last point and were not affected by the partisan crowd estimated in over 6,000 at Eduardo Dibos Coliseum.

Kim Dongyeol, coach of Korea: I want to thank my players who never quit and battled until the last point. The fell down for moments but were able to stand up and keep going.

Ko Minji, captain of Korea: It is always difficult to play against the home team. I think we gave our best effort and that was the reason for the victory.

Walter Lung, coach of Peru: It was a very close match. We faced a team that plays very fast volleyball and for moments we could have closed the match but fell a little bit short. My team has been improving and I hope we can get a positive result against Chinese Taipei.

Diana Magallanes, captain of Peru: We could have won this very close match but the luck was not with us. We are not going to let the result alter our motivation so we will play hearts out against Chinese Taipei.
