Mexico win match for 15th Place

 

Mexico defeated Peru in four sets with good blocking

Lima, Peru, August 16, 2015 – Mexico subdued Peru 3-1 (25-23, 18-25, 25-22, 26-24) in the match for fifteenth place at the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship on Sunday at Eduardo Dibos Coliseum of Lima.

Karla Mireles, Gabriela Perez and Kathya Garcia scored 17, 13 and 12 points as the main offensive players of Mexico. Peru’s Katherine Regalado had a match-high 20 points and teammate Kiara Montes was next with 18.

Mexico scored on 29 opponents’ errors while committing 21 of their own. The winners also led in aces 12-9 with Mireles topping the list with six aces.

Peruvian team battled in the fourth trying to force a tie-breaker but fell short with several serves landing out of bounds.
