Russia keeps unbeaten mark in Pool C

 

Callao, Peru, August 11, 2015 – Russia cruised to a straight set 3-0 (25-13, 25-19, 25-19) victory over Dominican Republic to remain undefeated in four outings in Pool C of the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship at Miguel Grau on Tuesday.
Angelina Lazarenko led Russia with 15 points, while Ksenia Smirnova contributed 12 markers. Natalia Martinez topped Dominican Republic with 12 points.
Russia outclassed Dominican Republic 12-4 in service winners and in the blocking charts 12 -6 The winners totaled 34 attacks to 26 by The Caribbean.
Russia played with more confidence and with powerful services from Russia destroyed the reception of Dominican Republic in the first set. The team of Svetlana Safronova close 25- 13.
In the second set Dominican Republic´s Massiel Matos tried once again lead her team but his effort was useless and Russia won the set 25-19.
Russia´s middle blocker Angelina Lazarenko was the answer to control the powerful attacks of wing spiker Natalia Martinez, The Europeans close the match by another set 25-19.
