Strong serves carry Mexico over Chinese Taipei

Mexico improved to 1/2 and five points after the win against Chinese Taipei

Lima, Peru, August 10, 2015 – Mexico relied on the strength of their serves to subdue Chinese Taipei in straight sets while achieving their first victory in the world championship after two losses in five sets.

Ricardo Naranjo, coach of Mexico: We were very aggressive with our serves. Our players really focused on being potent with their serves and not depending on the errors of Chinese Taipei to get the result but to win the points.

Kathya Garcia, top scorer of Mexico: Chinese Taipei is a strong team but we were able to control their fast game and variety. Since the start of the match we focused on giving our best at all times.

Chin-Tu Kuang, coach of Chinese Taipei: This group of players have been training together only for one month and they still lack technique. During this tournament we have short time to make the changes needed but we will continue training because they have a lot of potential.

Yu Huang Chen, captain of Chinese Taipei: We made too many errors with our reception and also didn’t have enough concentration. But our careers are just beginning and the experience we get from each match is very important for the future.
