Thailand first to arrive for Girls' U18 World Championship in Peru

Lima, Peru, July 29, 2015 - Thailand were the first team to arrive in Peru for the FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship. The Asian runners-up were received by Peruvian Volleyball Federation President Luis Linares and the former player and Director of Public Relations Vivian Baella, at the Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima.

Thailand and Peru will play a series of friendly matches in Lima and Ica before the start of the world competition.

"It's our first time in Peru and we are excited ahead of this new experience. The expectations of my team for the World Championship are very high. On the other hand, we know that volleyball in Peru is very popular and hope to see the Peruvian fans at the venue enjoying this beautiful sporting event," said Thailand coach Ratanarasi Tanasak.

Vivian Baella said: “I always remember my experience at the 2009 FIVB Volleyball Girls' U18 World Championship in Thailand. People were very kind with us. It is for this reason that it was very important for me to welcome the Thailand team here. I hope they will enjoy their stay in our country.”
