‘The crowd helped us to get this win’ – Japan captain

Callao, Peru, August 10, 2015. Japan overcomed Turkey and improves winning record 2-1 in Pool D of the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship at Miguel Grau.
Kaharan Selmin , captain of Turkey : Today was a bad day for us, we expected a different match. Japan uses a strong serve and we could not find a solution. I hope after we take a rest we will play in better level.
Manami Mandai, captain of Japan: We played like a real team, we all worked hard to get this win. I want to thank the crowd, they helped us to get this win, they gave us the cheers we needed and sung our songs with us.
Daichi Saegusa, coach of Japan: We had a lot of pressure at the beginning of the match, we only managed to dig but could not counter attack. After the second set we began to spike more comfortably thanks to a setter change and improving our service. Bedesten Mehmet , coach of Turkey : In this category all the teams have a similar level of playing . My team had four matches in a row and we hope that the days of rest will help us to take back the normal playing level that the Turkey team has.
