Callao, Peru, August 11, 2015 – The American side improved to 3-1 win-loss in Pool C of the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ U18 World Championship at Miguel Grau on Tuesday.
Kathryn Plummer, captain of USA: We knew that this match would be difficult because Belgium is a strong team. We played with all our effort this match and fortunately we showed what we trained.
Charlotte Coppin, captain of Belgium: The match was really hard; USA is always a strong contender. We wanted to win to get in the second place but we made a lot of mistakes that could not let us show our usual game.
James Stome, coach of USA: All the people thinks that the score show the performance of a team, but it is not true, because in this match each point was fought . I am happy with the results and the performance of my team so far in this championship.
Fien Callens, Coach of Belgium: We wanted to be placed as second in the group, and we thought we deserve for what we showed in the previous games, but in these game we made a lot of mistakes and our serve didn’t work out as we expected. We controlled the game in some moments but that wasn’t enough.
